THE FAQS.
Whats the general theme of this site?
The Phoenix House is a rehabilitation center for mentally unstable, criminally corrupt or drug addicted adolescents ranging from 15 to 23 years of age. You have the choice of playing either a patient or one of the staff members (therapists, counsellors and medical staff). A list of what therapists areneeded can be found here.
How many characters can I play?
As many as you'd like, so long as you make one character per account. Inactive characters WILL be deleted after two weeks, unless reason of absence is explained here.
Where is the phoenix house located?
The USA, in the lovely state of Oregon. However patients come here from all over the country, and even all over the world for it's renown success.
Are patients allowed around town?
Some are, some aren't. Depending on both the reason for you being here, and the current stage of your program determines if you are or not. You can find your character's program here.
How do they keep patients from obtaining banned items?
Upon arrival patients go through security checks and have all contraband removed, which they get back when they leave the facility for the last time. Cigarettes and Lighters are allowed to patients in their second stage and beyond, except for Pyromaniacs and Sociopaths.
How long do patients stay in rehab?
You can check the secondary info board to see how the stages work for your characters specific disorder. A patient never gets "thrown out" or "let off the hook", they remain there and often times must restart their stages until they are fully deemed "fit for society".
What happens to patients who are pregnant?
Patients that are pregnant remain in the facility as any other patient, although they are put on high monitor to prevent anything bad from happening to them or their future child. Once the child is born, there are two options. Either a relative/significant other takes care of the baby, or the baby is raised along with the mother in the facility, with several adjustments made to their programming to ensure a better time with the child.
