Eating Disorder Programming;;
[/b]Eating Disorder patients are welcome at the Phoenix house. Eating disorders range from binge-eating, to anorexia, to bulimia. There is no requirement to be admitted to the center other than a commitment to get better.
Stage One;
Stage one attacks the educational portion of rehabilitation. Along with group therapy once a week, patients with eating disorders are taught the dangers of their disease and what could happen down the road if there is no intervention. They are dormed in whatever size room they are comfortable with. They are to shower immediately when they get up before they eat, and are monitored during and after meals. They are not to return to their dorm until 2 hours after eating.
Stage Two;
Physical activity and healthy living is highly endorsed. One-on-one counselors meet with patients twice a week to discuss healthy eating choices. Showers are at normal schedule, and patients are still not to return to their dorms until 2 hours after their meal. Monitoring still occurs.
Stage Three;
Still being monitored on Phoenix House grounds, patients are allowed to leave the facility after 10 AM but must be back in the facility by 9 PM (patients aged 15 and 16) or 1030 PM (patients aged 17 - 23). They must be present for all meals and may not enter their dorm room for 2 hours after eating. They meet once every two weeks with group and one-on-one sessions. They have much more freedom in the outdoor aspects of the house.
Stage Four;[/b]
At stage four, one-on-one sessions occcur just once at the end of the month. There is still on-and-off monitoring to pick up on any signs a patient may be hiding. They are no longer on any schedules and can enter and leave their dorms as pleased.
