Impulse Control Programming;; Impulse control disorders range from pyromania to kleptomania, even hot-headedness and pathological gambling. Whatever the case may be, the Phoenix House is confident in its abilities to help their patients to their best abilities.
Stage One;
[/b] Stage one starts off in close monitoring of patients. They stay in single bed dorms, and meet with a one-on-one counselor up to 4 times a week, depending on severity. They do not start group sessions at this point, and are under close watch. Stage Two;Group therapy begins once every two weeks, and the patient begins to meet with a psychologist once a week as well. They then meet once a week with a one-on-one. At this stage, patients are still under close watch and are discouraged from spending a lot of time outside or in a friend's dorm. Stage Three;Patients are now allowed to leave the facility after 10 AM but must be back in the facility by 9 PM (patients aged 15 and 16) or 1030 PM (patients aged 17 - 23). Their meetings continue the same as stage Two, but they are now allowed more freedoms and priveledges on House Grounds. Stage Four;[/b] At stage four, the heavy monitoring ceases and psychologist, group, and one-on-one sessions are carried out once a month. Once staff decide that it is safe for the patient to return to society, they are free to do so. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
